Summer Arts Institute Online provides a safe and nurturing environment in which your child can explore their artistic abilities through a variety of arts classes including instrumental music, creative drama, dance, culinary and visual arts. Children as young as 6 years old can begin taking classes with us and experience the excitement, synergy and joy that comes from participating in the arts.

Due to COVID we have begun teaching online. During our online Spring program, our students were able to have a successful art experience thanks to our hard-working staff and dedicated teaching artists. It is our goal to provide the same experience to your children during the summer!  We are happy to have you with us this in new venture!

“I am thankful to the staff and teachers of the Institute of Music for Children for their support and dedication with virtual instruction during this COVID-19 pandemic. It has become the new norm to learn and teach via computer screening.  But it is still great to see the interaction between my kids and their piano teachers.” Simpan Rabanal, parent

Note about Virtual Learning Requirements

  • Virtual classes will be held via the ZOOM video conferencing platform. The platform is secure as Institute staff approves every individual before they are able to enter.
  • Students will need an internet accessible electronic device including a desktop computer, laptop, or iPad. Smartphones are adequate but not recommended. (Limited iPad rentals are available)
  • Students will need a home “class space” where they can fully participate in selected classes. (ie. Dance or other physical classes require ample space to move) Their class space should be free from interruption including sound, other activities, pets and other people (especially other siblings). *If enrolling multiple children, multiple “class spaces” are required.
  • Students may need to rent or get a loan of required instrument or supplies from the Institute of Music. Please note limited supplies may result in parents securing needed instrument/supplies prior to the start of the summer program.
  • Sufficient internet speed is necessary for a successful virtual class experience. Also distance to the router will also effect internet connection quality. It is recommended that families check and if necessary, increase their internet speed/bandwidth prior to the start of summer camp. Also, if the “class space” is a good distance from the router, a router extender or a wifi booster is recommended.
  • 1st-3rd grade students: Parent participation and supervision is required during camp time.
